NCEG Holiday Event – December 10th

Come kick off the festive season with the NCEG… We had a wonderful time last year and have a more exciting schedule for this year including a speaker, a silent auction, demonstrations, and “show and tell” for all amist a holiday luncheon.

Albion Smith will discuss his hand made vessels that include enameling. He forms, fabricates, and engraves each piece by hand. He takes particular pleasure in creating functional jeweled objects that are made to be used, rather than just displayed.

Roberta will conduct a silent auction for enamels by Caroline Rap, an enamelist from San Diego who specialized in folded vessels that are fired at a very high temp. If you would like to bring things to auction, contact Roberta.

 Artist: Carolyn Rap

A demonstration of the hammer tool will be shown by Susie Hojel and Maryland Edwards. Susie will demo the hammer tool to remove porosity from castings. And Maryland will demo the tool to set stones and enamels.

The “Art in Health” program at Stanford Hospital has expressed an interest in the NCEG participating in their art program. At the meeting we will discuss the how we could get involved.

Everyone is invited for “Show and Tell”. Please give maryland a call if you would like to show so we can plan to include you.

This meeting is also a time to discuss next years programs and get each member requests for meetings, workshops, and activities.

There will be a holiday buffet provided with the Executive board’s special desserts! And some very special door prizes for those that come including the latest enamel book and goodies from Coral … So please come and bring prospective members.

Coordinator: Maryland Edwards – contact Maryland if you would like to find someone to carpool with.
