The exhibition includes functional and non-functional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that illustrate the wide scope of artwork created by the enameling process. Work has been chosen for its melding of technical excellence and content, and for daring to push the boundaries of the medium. There are 70 pieces from 48 artists in this exhibition. Enamel exhibitions in the US are rare. The NCEG is privileged to partner with the Richmond Art Center to bring this very special exhibition to the Bay Area.

The exhibition is international in scope. The enameling community has always appreciated the cross-fertilization of ideas between countries and cultures. Countries besides the USA that are represented in Beyond Borders include Taiwan, Canada, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.
