Artist Statement:
"I became enamored of enamel early in my art career, because I believe with Da Vinci that it is the most beautiful, most lasting, most enduring medium---enamel is the eternal art. Enamel is the way to create human gems, where covering gold, silver, and copper with transparent glass produces a depth and a richness not possible with any other material. In addition, with enamel I can produce any effect that is possible with oil, watercolor, or acrylic. The palette is unlimited. The fact that enamel is slow, technically difficult, and often a gamble seems to add to the challenge. But having become committed to enamel, I have no desire to go back to paint." - Jean
